Monday night at the Wheatfield Town Hall, the Town Board held one of its quickest meetings of the year. Regardless of the length of the meeting, several items were taken care of, some of which have been ongoing within the town.

The North Tonawanda Common Council had a busy night Tuesday. The council heard from several residents, approved several motions, and even honored a special group of individuals in the city.

Since 2011, the Niagara-Wheatfield boys lacrosse team has faced off versus Hamburg in every Section VI Class B finals. The Falcons have one title win versus the Bulldogs in that time frame. In 2018, coach Vince Schiffert said his team is ready to get back on top.

Tuesday afternoon, the Niagara County Host Community Standing Committee, which administers and oversees projects funded by Niagara River Greenway funding, held a brief meeting to hear several proposals. Two of the proposals came from Town of Niagara Supervisor Lee Wallace, who is also a vice chairperson to the group.

On Sunday afternoon, the Town of Wheatfield held a luncheon at the town's Community Center to swear in David Heim as the new town justice. The town also recognized Matthew Mosher who was sworn in last Tuesday and replaced Heim as the town prosecutor.

The second phase of expansion at Hibbard's Original Frozen Custard was approved Monday by the Village of Lewiston Board of Trustees. The Hibbard family was granted a special use permit for a 24-foot-by-13-foot concrete pad and customer queuing area with overhanging canopy. This waiting spot will be located directly behind newly enlarged serving windows, which were previously approved.

Artpark & Company's "Tuesdays in the Park" presented by M&T Bank concert series continues to take shape. On Tuesday, the venue added Boy George and Culture Club, The B-52s and Thompson Twins' Tom Bailey to the close the lineup. The acts will perform starting at 6 p.m. Aug. 28.

The premier Pink Floyd tribute band will bring its "Eclipse World Tour 2018" to Lewiston - promising "45 years of The Dark Side of the Moon' " - on July 31.
