The second phase of expansion at Hibbard's Original Frozen Custard was approved Monday by the Village of Lewiston Board of Trustees. The Hibbard family was granted a special use permit for a 24-foot-by-13-foot concrete pad and customer queuing area with overhanging canopy. This waiting spot will be located directly behind newly enlarged serving windows, which were previously approved.

The premier Pink Floyd tribute band will bring its "Eclipse World Tour 2018" to Lewiston - promising "45 years of The Dark Side of the Moon' " - on July 31. Cashless tolls to Grand Island begin March 29

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Wednesday announced cashless tolling will go live at the Grand Island toll barriers on Thursday, March 29 (weather-dependent). As of the morning commute on Friday, March 30, the toll plazas at the north and south Grand Island bridges will no longer accept cash payment.

The Niagara-Wheatfield Falcons hockey team has been through it all this season. Coming off the previous season where they didn't make the sectional final; a middle of the season where they weren't playing their best hockey; a historic end of the season run; and the tragic loss of a classmate mixed into four months was just tidbits of what the Falcons went through. After the tragedy in the community, the team uplifted many Wheatfield spirits with a run to the New York state large schools championship. Unfortunately, good things come to an end, and on Sunday evening, the Falcons were defeated by the No. 1 team in New York state, the Victor Blue Devils, 5-1.

It's been a very tough week for the Niagara-Wheatfield community. On Wednesday, students, faculty, friends and family received tragic news that Michael Ziegler; a student at Niagara-Wheatfield High School and a member of the Falcons football, wrestling and lacrosse teams, tragically passed away.
