The Grand Island Memorial Library is planning to add a reading garden to the grassy area next to the building that faces the parking lot. The library will be called the Richard Earne Memorial Reading Garden, as a tribute to the late Richard Earne, who was a member of the Grand Island Rotary Club, as well as a member of the library board of trustees. He died on Sept. 18, 2022.

The Lewiston Town Board took steps Monday to get a handle on short-term rentals. While other communities continue to debate the "What to do?" question, Lewiston approved an open-ended moratorium that effectively puts the matter on hold until all questions concerning zoning codes and permitted uses are reviewed in detail.

Elsie Martino has been the humble, dedicated volunteer secretary of the DeGlopper Memorial Expansion Committee since the fall of 2018. She has been gracious and helpful in accomplishing many tasks while being supportive of every committee member as they accomplished the amazing goal of constructing a monument in honor of Grand Island's World War II hero, U.S. Army Pvt. First-Class Charles N. DeGlopper and all town veterans.

It's been a minute since Artpark & Company slotted a straight-up Christian music-making solo artist into its list of concert headliners. In the summer of 2007, Rebecca St. James performed inside the Mainstage Theater to a crowd of about 1,000 people. In this, Artpark's 50th anniversary season, the Lewiston visual, cultural, educational and performing arts company welcomes the genre back - and has not only moved the venue - to the outside amphitheater - but has booked perhaps the biggest name in all of Christian music: Lauren Daigle.
