A statue of the Madonna that once stood in front of Niagara Catholic High School has found a new home at the foot of St. Peter R.C. Church in Lewiston. On Sunday, the Rev. Monsignor David LiPuma led a Mass of thanksgiving and dedication as he stood next to the monument of Mary.

Artpark and Funtime Presents announced "Bordercrash" will invade Lewiston on July 13. The concert will feature Headstones, The Trews, Lowest of the Low and Steven Page. "Bordercrash" joins the Funtime Presents "Coors Light Concert" series in the Artpark Amphitheater. Tickets are now on sale.

This past week, Niagara County Community College hosted three public forums to introduce its presidential candidates. The forums also gave attendees the chance to ask the candidates questions they may have regarding the college. Following the remarks, attendees filled out a survey, which judged several categories of the presentation.

As predicted, the Lewiston Smelt Festival was about 55 and overcast on Friday. What was an unexpected surprise was the amount of mud within Academy Park, where the annual event relocated for 2019. To counter the conditions, the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce brought in an oversized party tent and buckets of wood chips.

Tracy Spiridakos seemed like a great pickup and a worthy addition to the "Chicago P.D." team when it was announced she would join the hit NBC series in the 2017-18 season. But her casting also came with some questions - namely, would her character, Hailey Upton, serve as a replacement for the departing Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush)? If so, would she become a love interest for Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer)?

She captained her team to a resounding victory in "Lewiston Jeopardy," earning a large trophy and the applause of an impressed audience.
