Goodwill to open in Niagara Falls

Goodwill of Western New York announced construction is almost complete at its new retail store and donation center in the I-190 Plaza, 6530 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls - near the Fashion Outlets of Niagara mall. The 11,000-square-foot store and donation center is Goodwill of Western New York's 12th location, but first in Niagara Falls. The store will employ 15 staff members.
Boom Days Buffalo 2018 schedule released

Boom Days Buffalo, an annual celebration of spring marking the removal of the ice boom, is happening from 1-11 p.m. Saturday, April 7, in multiple venues throughout the Old First Ward neighborhood in Buffalo. Camp Hope helps heal through fun

Grieving the loss of a loved one is difficult for anyone, but it can be especially difficult for children. Children grieve differently than adults. To address the special needs of grieving children, the bereavement department of Niagara Hospice is offering its 18th Camp Hope for grieving children from June 22-24 at the YMCA's Camp Kenan in Barker.

Cuomo: More than $615,000 in Lake Ontario flood relief funds for Niagara County town municipalities

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Monday announced the Town of Newfane and the Village of Barker in Niagara County have been awarded $615,083 in Lake Ontario flood relief funds to support restoration resiliency efforts following last year's flooding, and to protect the community from the damage of future storms. The state has committed $55 million to recovery efforts to support homeowners, small businesses and community infrastructure.
