Kenan Center: Call for craft artisans

Tue, Apr 3rd 2018 12:45 pm
The Kenan Center is taking submissions for craft artisans to exhibit their work in the Annex Marketplace, an innovative space that is part of the center's prestigious "100 American Craftsmen" show, June 1-3.
The Annex Marketplace is a way for new artisans to expose their work to thousands of patrons who will attend "100 American Craftsmen." It has been a first step for many artisans for acceptance into the main juried show. Eligible artisans are first-time - those who have not previously been accepted into "100 American Craftsmen"; emerging - artisans who have been working at their craft for six years or less; or student - minimum age 15. Especially popular are upcycled, repurposed, recycled and "green" art, but traditional work in jewelry, clay, leather, metal, mixed media, fiber, paper, wood and glass are welcome.
Spaces are 10-feet-by-10-feet and artisans provide all display equipment, tables and chairs. Artisans must be able to man their exhibit for the two-and-a-half days of the show. If accepted, an exhibit fee of $100 will be payable by May 7. All exhibiting artisans are required to have a New York state sales tax number. Artisans must submit an application, available on the Kenan Center website at kenancenter.org/events, and two digital images of their work sent to to Alyssa Mays. Application deadline is April 23.
