Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue will hold its sixth annual "Heart to Heart, Taste of the Niagara Region" fundraiser. The event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, at the Cambria Volunteer Firehall, 4631 Cambria-Wilson Road, Lockport.
Samples from area restaurants will be served and a basket auction is also being planned.
A partial list of restaurants involved this year include: Leonard Oakes Estate Winery, Salvatore's Italian Gardens, Tater Cakes, The Brickyard Pub and B.B.Q., Rain Forest Café, Paula's Donuts, The Red Coach Inn, One Eyed Jacks, Tim Hortons, The Griffon House, Formal BBQ & Event Catering, Favorites Pizzeria, Hilltop Restaurant & Bar, Molinaro's Ristorante and Spice Harbor.
Heart of Niagara is a not-for-profit companion animal rescue organization based in Lockport. Its mission is to protect the health and welfare of abandoned, unwanted and homeless animals. HON operates solely on donations and the generosity and support of the public.
The event this year will focus on help from community groups such as Opportunities Unlimited, whose members will make centerpieces with HON volunteers. Other local groups involved are the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Lewiston-Porter Builders Club and Key Club members.

www.heartofniagara.org. Tickets may be purchased via PayPal at a cost of $25 per person. They may be picked up at the will call table the day of the event.
