Congressman Brian Higgins and City of Niagara Falls Mayor Robert Restaino announced several public safety investments made possible thanks to the more than $57 million in federal funding received by the city through the American Rescue Plan. Just before noon on Friday, Niagara County Sheriff's Office dispatch received a call from a boater in the lower Niagara River stating there was a body floating in the river. U.S. Coast Guard retrieved the person from the water. The individual was then brought to the Coast Guard Station in Fort Niagara State Park.
