With daylight saving time ending Sunday, Nov. 6, at 2 a.m., Americans will "fall back" and set their clocks back one hour to standard time. While many motorists will enjoy an extra hour of sleep, they need to be aware of the time change and potential distractions to their normal routine. There are added dangers that can come as a result of a time change, especially behind the wheel.

On Wednesday, Congressman Brian Higgins and Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz visited Stack Burger in Lackawanna to highlight efforts to boost small businesses in Erie County through the microenterprise loan/grant program. The initiative provides small businesses with five employees or fewer with loan/grant funding of up to $35,000 thanks to resources made available through the federal CARES Act.

Monday at approximately 6:40 p.m., the Niagara Falls Police Department responded to the area of Vanderbilt Avenue and DeVeaux Street for a report of shots heard. Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old Niagara Falls man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen and his elbow.
