Artpark offers musical theater apprentice program

Artpark has reinstated its highly successful musical theater apprentice program for a third year. The apprentice program provides an opportunity for up to eight high school music theater students of exceptional talent to participate in the company's Broadway musical production of "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella." Artpark will present the timeless fairy tale musical in the Mainstage Theater Aug. 9-17.

Used book sale in Ransomville

They say the third times the charm - Ransomville Speedway management certainly hopes so, as the Hangover 150 "Take Two" has now become the Hangover 150 "Take Three." The soaking rains Thursday night into Friday morning left the parking lot completely saturated, forcing co-promoters Jamie and Joel Friesen to postpone Saturday's event for the second time this year.

On Jan. 13, Niagara County Community College hosted Tech Wars 2012, a multi-district technology competition for middle and high school students. Twenty school districts competed in events such as mousetrap cars, Sumo-Bots, and CO2 car racing. In attendance were about 300 students, teachers, and spectators.
