The Niagara County Department of Health, in collaboration with Daphany's Fabulous Objective Weekly Workshops and the Niagara Falls School District, will host a nutrition literacy and community resource workshop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at Niagara Falls High School, 4455 Porter Road. This event is free, open to the public, and includes a nutritious catered lunch from Carrabba's Italian Grill.

Erie County Clerk Michael P. Kearns will again honor veterans who have been bestowed the Purple Heart by adding their name to the William J. Donovan Purple Heart Recipients Book of Merit. Kearns is encouraging veterans who were awarded the Purple Heart or their surviving family members to submit their request to his office by Aug. 1 in order to be added to the 2024 edition and be part of this year's ceremony.

The vivid bright greens inside The Plant Shack were accompanied by myriad colors Saturday afternoon, as the shop hosted the third annual "Paintings & Pottery" event. Art from 130 Niagara Wheatfield High School students filled the Lewiston store as the culmination of six studio in art and ceramics classes.

The Lockport Memorial Hospital Campus will host its event on from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the hospital at 6001 Shimer Drive, Lockport. Mount St. Mary's Hospital, at 5300 Military Road in Lewiston, will host its open house the following day, June 13, from 3-7 p.m.

Lew-Port Youth Football is hosting the 2024 NEYSA Flag Football Tournament on June 8 and 9 at the Lewiston-Porter campus on Creek Road. Games will start at 9 a.m. both days, and will end at 5 p.m., at Blakeslee and Elia fields by the high school. There will also be games on the fields behind the PEC.

The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will host a touch-a-truck event at the Niagara Power Vista, the visitors center for the Niagara Power Project, on Saturday, June 8, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dozens of vehicles from NYPA, the Department of Transportation, the Niagara County Sheriff's Department, the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, and other local organizations will be on display during the event.
