Catholic Health Press Release

Mount St. May’s Hospital will host an open house at each of its Niagara County hospital locations, with activities for all ages. The Lockport Memorial Hospital Campus will host its event on from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at the hospital at 6001 Shimer Drive, Lockport. Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, at 5300 Military Road in Lewiston, will host its open house the following day, June 13, from 3-7 p.m.

Each open house will include activities for the entire family, including community education classes from 4-6 p.m. such as “Stop the Bleed,” “911 Communications” and “Hands Only CPR” training. Pre-registration is not needed.

Catholic Health’s EMS liaisons will also be offering a teddy bear clinic at each event. Children are invited to bring a “sick or injured” doll or stuffed animal to the ambulance at the hospital for a checkup, treatment and care by one of the EMS professionals.

A petting zoo will be set up and MSM and the new LMH ambassadors will be holding a basket raffle at the LMH event.

Local firemen will also be on site with fire trucks for the children to tour, as well as plans for a landing from the Mercy Flight helicopter at each event. Additionally, MSM nurses will be offering blood pressure screenings, and new physicians will be on hand to greet the public and address questions. Various community organizations will also be present to share information, including local health insurance expert Michelle Farina.

Each event will have food, giveaways, a coloring contest for children, as well as tours available of the hospital.

“If you have not yet toured the new Lockport Memorial or perhaps have not been to Mount St. Mary’s recently to sese all of its available services, this is an excellent opportunity to become more acquainted with your community hospital,” stated Carolyn Moore, manager of public relations and community affairs. “Everyone is invited to attend either event – or both! We’ve strived to offer something for the entire family. Don’t miss it.”
