Resident Mark Elias inquired on the rough road conditions plaguing Morgan Drive, the Morgan Farms area and the town's plans on addressing the matter. Jumping right into it, Town Highway Superintendent Dave Trane replied the town's considerable schedule of road related work and repairs is at last underway, with paving delays thus far placed on the prolonged winter type weather conditions.

On March 22, Grand Island resident Paul Leuchner met with I National Aeronautics and Space Administration officials at their Glenn Research Center in Cleveland to take temporary possession of a lunar rock sample from the 1971 Apollo 15 mission. The sample, encased in a solid pyramid of clear Lucite, was being loaned to the Buffalo Geological Society for display at its annual gem and mineral show that weekend.

The New York State Thruway Authority has announced a weekend lane reduction on the North Grand Island Bridge on the Niagara Thruway beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, April 27, through 9 a.m. Sunday, April 29. The work is part of the toll barrier removal process following the transition to cashless tolling at the Grand Island toll plazas in March.

On Wednesday, Mayor Paul A. Dyster announced the City of Niagara Falls received $300,000 in grant funding toward recently completed cleanup efforts at 3625 Highland Ave., through National Grid's Economic Development program. The funds were used to assist to redevelopment a 5.5-acre site in a New York state-designated Brownfield Opportunity Area in the Highland Avenue corridor.

The Erie County Department of Social Services has announced that, on Monday, April 30, the office of child support enforcement ("OCSE") will relocate to floor two of the Edward A. Rath county office building (95 Franklin St, Buffalo) from it current location on the seventh floor. The move will provide a larger, remodeled space for OCSE operations, and a more private setting for interactions with individuals receiving services.
