After months of speculation as to what the Buffalo Bills might do on NFL Draft day - would the team trade up, trade down, take a quarterback - the answer finally came on Thursday night. The team traded picks No. 12, 53 and 56 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and selected Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen with the No. 7 overall pick.
ESPN reported the 21-year-old gunslinger was a favorite of Buffalo Bills owners Terry and Kim Pegula, as well as General Manager Brandon Beane.
The red-shirt junior threw for 1,812 yards and 16 touchdowns last season, while completing 56.3 percent of his pass attempts.
Then, the Bills traded another three picks, Nos. 22, 65 and 154, to the Baltimore Ravens in order to select Virginia Tech linebacker Tremaine Edmunds at No. 16.
NFL.com ranked the 19-year-old junior as the fourth-best player available in the draft. He registered 108 tackles and 5.5 sacks last season.
