Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council supports annual United Way Community Baby Shower

Fri, Apr 27th 2018 05:15 pm
Again this year, the Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council No. 4752 will collect baby items in support of the ninth annual United Way Community Baby Shower.
This communitywide effort to collect essential baby items will help at-risk mothers to give their newborns a stronger start, giving the supplies and support needed for a healthy beginning.
"This effort is wholly consistent with the Knights of Columbus commitment to the 'Right for Life' for every living being," stated Grand Knight Sean Carroll.
David Forster, Charitable Committee chairperson, invites the community to drop off their donations at the Mary Star of the Sea Council Hall located at 1841 Whitehaven Road from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on April 27.
"I truly hope the Grand Island community will join us in support for this worthy cause. Any donation that would be useful for a newborn would be greatly appreciated. Specifically: diapers, baby wipes, sleep sacks, digital thermometers. Gift cards and cash donations are always gratefully accepted as well," noted Forster.
The Knights of Columbus, Mary Star of the Sea Council 4752 is a fraternal organization dedicated to improving Grand Island and surrounding communities through charitable giving, educational support and scholarships, support for youth sporting activities, support for families in need and encouraging all faiths, especially Catholics, to deepen their relationship with God.
