Tom Jones announces preorder for new album 'Surrounded By Time'

Following the announcement last week of his forthcoming album "Surrounded By Time," Tom Jones has released a new single, "No Hole In My Head," and its accompanying video. "Surrounded By Time" will be released on April 23 via S-Curve Records/BMG and is now available for preorder.
New take-it, make-it workshops & demonstrations at Botanical Gardens

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens announced last year it will offer the traditional, on-site make-it, take-it programs as take-it, make-it virtual programs to be held online via Zoom. These one-night workshops include a succulent garden workshop, a terrarium workshop and a mini-garden workshop. Also brand new to the educational programs are botanical demonstrations. These low-cost, one-hour demonstrations will cover orchid repotting, spring floral arrangements and a bonsai demonstration.
Higgins announces passage of legislation supporting, expanding national apprenticeship programs

Congressman Brian Higgins announced the passage of H.R. 447, the National Apprenticeship Act. The bill invests more than $3.5 billion over the next five years to expand registered apprenticeships, youth apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships, creating nearly 1 million new apprentice opportunities nationwide.

NYS passes 2 million vaccination doses administered

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday announced the state has administered over 2,136,209 vaccine doses through the state's vaccination program. The total week 8 federal allocation of vaccine delivery to providers was to be completed yesterday. As of 11 a.m. Sunday, New York's health care distribution sites had received 1,874,975 first doses and already administered 87% (1,627,191) of first dose vaccinations and 76% of first and second doses. Delivery of the week 9 allocation from the federal government begins mid-week.

One dead in Lewiston sledding accident

On Feb. 6 at 10:14 hours, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting an accident on the sledding hill at the Clyde L. Burmaster Park in the Town of Lewiston. Responding members of the Town of Lewiston Police Department and Niagara County Sheriff's Office located and confirmed two injured parties, a 16-year-old female and a 3-year-old male. The two were apparently riding a sledding tube when they struck a tree at the bottom of the hill.
