Attorney General Letitia James and Gov. Andrew Cuomo today announced an investigation into Apple's failure to warn consumers about the FaceTime bug and "slow response" to addressing the issue. The bug jeopardized the privacy of consumers in New York by allowing users to receive audio and video from the device of the person they are calling even before the person accepted or rejected the call.

Super-group BTS' mega-hit "BTS World Tour Love Yourself in Seoul" tour event grossed over $2.8 million at the domestic box office on Saturday, in over 1,000 movie theaters nationwide. That made the event the highest one-day gross for a music event for Fathom - and for the event cinema industry in North America. The event was No. 5 at the box office and had the highest per-screen average.

Democrat Congressman Brian Higgins joined Congresswoman Julia Brownley (D-CA) in introducing the Veterans' Access to Child Care Act. This is legislation that would make permanent the VA's child care pilot program and expand it so that veterans across the nation who are primary caretakers have a convenient, cost-free option for child care when they have VA medical appointments.

The Niagara County Manager's Office issued a press release stating that, while a travel advisory is in place in Niagara County on Wednesday, "This closure does not affect public safety essential personnel and functions such as Emergency Management Services, Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Sewer District, Water District, DPW and those employees directed to report to work during the closure."

Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz has issued a travel advisory, in effect until further notice, for the City of Buffalo and all of northern Erie County due to a winter storm that could leave snow accumulations of up to 2 feet in some areas by Thursday morning. The entire region will see lake-effect snow, blowing and drifting snow, and extreme cold temperatures and wind chills over the next 36 hours and into Thursday. The travel advisory urges against any unnecessary travel during this period, and using extreme caution if travel is unavoidable.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday urged New Yorkers to prepare for snow and cold temperatures that are headed toward the state. Several weather systems are forecast to move through New York through Wednesday, producing up to a foot of snow in many parts of upstate. In addition, an Arctic blast of cold air will move into the state on Wednesday, bringing frigid temperatures and life-threatening wind chills.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday announced nearly $4.5 million was awarded to 13 animal shelters and humane societies across the state through the New York State Companion Animal Capital Fund. The funding will support construction, renovation and expansion projects that will enhance animal care and health, and help ensure adoptions for New York's dogs and cats.
