New physicians, partnership with Excelsior Orthopaedics expands services at Mount St. Mary's Hospital

Improving access to high-quality orthopaedic care for residents throughout Niagara County, Mount St. Mary’s Hospital welcomes three new physicians to its medical staff and announces a new partnership with Excelsior Orthopaedics to expand orthopaedic surgery at the Lewiston hospital.

Stephen Watkins, DO, a resident of Lewiston, has joined the hospital’s orthopaedic services team. A graduate of Buffalo State College, Watkins earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Master of Science in Medical Education degrees from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. Specializing in orthopaedic surgery, he is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Following the opening of Excelsior Orthopaedics new Niagara Falls office at 10175 Niagara Falls Blvd., Mount St. Mary’s has reached an agreement with the specialty group to provide orthopaedic surgery services at the hospital. As part of the new partnership, Excelsior surgeons Adam Burzynski, M.D., and Matthew Mann, M.D., will perform surgery at the hospital’s Military Road location.

Burzynski earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his Medical Degree from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Specializing in orthopaedics and sports medicine, he completed an orthopaedic surgical residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and a sports medicine fellowship at the University at Buffalo. He focused on partial and total knee replacements and served as an assistant team physician for the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.

Mann received his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, where he also completed his residency and orthopaedic surgery training. A specialist in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery and joint reconstruction and replacement, he completed fellowships in knee and hip reconstruction at the University of British Columbia and foot and ankle surgery at Toronto Western Hospital.

The new doctors join Mount St. Mary’s growing Orthopaedic Services team, which includes Dr. Kafai Lai, Dr. Mark Mieth, Dr. Donald Nenno and Dr. Joseph Bax.
