Shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday, the Niagara Falls Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Whitney Avenue to check the welfare of a male sitting inside a pickup truck. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male in the truck, who was deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

Phil Wickham released his eighth album, "Hymn Of Heaven" (Fair Trade Services), on Friday. Encompassing 13 songs, including his multiple-week No. 1 hit "Battle Belongs," the anticipated project is the follow-up to his 2018 release, "Living Hope," which features the RIAA Gold-certified single and GMA Dove Award for "Worship Recorded Song of the Year" of the same name. At press time, "Hymn Of Heaven" is topping the iTunes Christian album chart and is No. 7 on the overall iTunes album chart.

The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance reminded taxpayers to review their eligibility for The Child Tax Credit. The American Rescue Plan increased the Child Tax Credit to $3,600 per child for children under 6 years old and $3,000 per child for children ages 6-17. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will begin distributing monthly payments of up to $300 per child to eligible families in the coming weeks; the remaining half of the 2021 credits must be claimed on income tax returns filed next spring.

Over Memorial Day weekend, Hibbard's Original Frozen Custard held a fundraiser for VFW Downriver Post 7487, which maintains the "Circle of Honor" memorial across the street in Academy Park. Proceeds from the custard cookies - a collaboration between Hibbard's and the Village Bake Shoppe - will go toward upkeep at the tribute to Lewiston veterans.

Grammy Award-winner Chris Tomlin revealed the track listing and country collaborations Thursday for his "Chris Tomlin & Friends: Summer EP," releasing July 2. The EP, produced by Corey Crowder, contains three new songs featuring Tomlin with Tyler Hubbard (Florida Georgia Line), who also served as executive producer; Jimmie Allen and Russell Dickerson.
