Michael Andrew Cap, 66, of Grand Island, went suddenly to be with God on Feb. 16, 2021.
He leaves his loving wife Roberta “Bobbie”; children Bethany (Paul) Hannan and Ian (Lorena) Cap; grandchildren Kathryn and Alex Hannan and Aiden Cap; brothers Victor (Gloria) Cap and Daniel Cap; sister Catherine (James) Mulhern; also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. His parents, Ruth and Witold Cap, predeceased him.
Mike was an avid hunter and dog-sledder. He was secretary for West Seneca Lodge No. 1111 F. & A.M.; a member of the Ismailia Shriners, Pond Chapter No. 853 OES; and the Siberian Husky Club of the Niagara Frontier.
He was a 1972 graduate of Grand Island High School, a 1976 graduate of Buffalo State College (in its inaugural information systems management program), and was employed by M&T Bank.
Mike was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school and was on the board of trustees and finance committee. Mike loved playing hockey, working with his Siberian Huskies and dog-sledding. He mentored many people in the sport. His family was his priority, and his many friends and co-workers will miss him.
A Masonic service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church 2100 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island. Livestreaming of the service will be available at youtu.be/pdnBRe0OACk.
