Tops Markets announces launch of free gas and groceries campaign

Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in New York, northern Pennsylvania and Vermont, announced the launch of its 2022 free gas and grocery campaign. The promotion will run from Oct. 23 through Nov. 5 at all participating Tops locations. Last year, the initiative raised $69,426 for Oishei Children's Hospital.

After a two-year hiatus, "Rock'N with HART" is back. The event, featuring Western New York's renowned Summer of '69 All-Star Band, will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Lewiston Event Center. The evening will be filled with music, raffles and a basket auction, all raising funds to benefit the Home Assistance Referral Team.

PrEP Aware Week will take place Oct. 24-31, 2022. PrEP (HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a powerful, safe and effective prevention tool to prevent getting HIV. In 2012, the Food and Drug Administration approved the first PrEP medication. Over the last 10 years, more than 70,000 New Yorkers have made the decision to use PrEP to prevent HIV.

Kathy Hochul on Tuesday signed a package of legislation that her team said will strengthen protections for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence by ensuring guns are seized from abusive partners, and protecting the confidentiality of survivors. Hochul signed the five bills into law alongside survivors, advocates and legislative champions at Union Settlement, a nonprofit providing resources to survivors in East Harlem.

Congressman Brian Higgins announced New York state will receive $2,714,577,528 in federal formula funding for infrastructure investments in 2023.
