Laura Zaepfel, vice president of corporate relations at Uniland Development Co., took advantage of her sequestered time at home because of the COVID-19 pandemic to finally go through files of important papers and box those she no longer needed. A problem, she quickly found out, was where she could go with these boxes of papers to be shredded.

Per the Niagara County Sheriff's Office: On July 24 at 16:56 hours, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call of a possible boating accident. An occupant of a mid-size anchored vessel, just east of Gratwick Park, jumped off the vessel into the Niagara River for a swim. The male subject was quickly overtaken by the fast-moving current and went under the water for a short time.

Niagara County Legislator Irene Myers said the Niagara County Department of Public Works will begin work to replace the Porter Center Road Bridge over 6 Mile Creek in the Town of Porter next week. The bridge, located just south of Braley Road, will be closed starting Friday, July 31.
