Kenan Center launches new weekly programming

"Yoga in the Gardens" & "Music for Kids" start this week 

The Kenan Center is continuing to utilize the space on its Lockport campus for socially distanced programming for the community. The cultural center will launch two new programs this week, “Yoga in the Gardens” on Thursday, and “Music of Kids” on Friday.  

Peaceful Waters Yoga will offer a slow-paced Hatha yoga class at 5:30 p.m. every Thursday in the Kenan Center Gardens. The yoga class is appropriate for beginners and experienced yogis, using language instructors said is easy to follow. The session is $10 with advanced registration, online preferred.  

“Music for Kids” is youth music series featuring “Music with Miss Sara” at 10 a.m. weekly starting July 31. She is a board-certified music therapist and performing musician in Buffalo. These accessible music enrichment sessions will focus on movement, socialization, expression and communication. Sessions are ideal for ages 3-12 years old. Blankets and chairs are welcome. The cost is $10 a family with preferred advanced online registration.  

Both programs will run four consecutive weeks and take place in the Kenan Center Gardens behind the Taylor Theater. In case of rain, programming will move to the Kenan Center Arena. Registration and more information can be found online at www.kenancenter.org.
