State School Boards Association brings its annual convention to Syracuse

The Astraverse has a new home. Hulu announced it will be the exclusive U.S. streaming destination for the biggest Hindi film of the year, "Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva." National Jazz Festival returns to Philadelphia

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday announced all New Yorkers enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will receive the maximum allowable level of food benefits for October. All households participating in SNAP - including those already at the maximum level of benefits - will receive a supplemental allotment this month, resulting in a roughly $234 million infusion of federal funding into the New York State economy.

Five $1 million winners of 43North's 8th annual startup competition

Kathy Hochul on Thursday announced the winners of the eighth annual 43North Finals, New York state's $5 million startup competition held in Buffalo, in which five companies were each awarded a $1 million investment. In addition to the financial investments, the five winners will relocate their companies to Buffalo and work out of the 43North incubator in the city's tallest skyscraper, Seneca One.
