On Tuesday, President Donald J. Trump declared a major disaster exists in the state of New York and ordered federal assistance to supplement state, tribal and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by flooding from May 2 to Aug. 6.

On Monday night, The Eric Wood Fund, a not-for-profit organization founded by Buffalo Bills center Eric Wood, raised $57,500 to support programming of The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation and Stone's Buddies. Proceeds were raised at the organization's annual Flights and Bites fundraiser and silent auction.

Colvin Cleaners held its first of three "Coats 4 Kids" distributions over the weekend at the True Bethel Baptist Church - and the response was overwhelming. Some 1,500 coats were distributed, which leaves officials concerned about its inventory for the next two distributions. Additionally, almost all of the donated gloves, hats and scarves were distributed.
