Charter expands free 60-day Spectrum broadband internet and Wi-Fi offer to include educators who are new subscribers

On Tuesday, Charter announced it is expanding the eligibility for its 60-day free offer for Spectrum broadband internet and Wi-Fi access to include educators (K-12 teachers and college/university professors) who do not already have a Spectrum account.

What initially appeared to be a mistake might actually have been a happy accident, as an order of personal protective equipment, initially intended to be used by Niagara University nursing students, is now being donated to the places that need them most: area hospitals and nursing homes.

Explore & More, The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children's Museum, launches blog to help caregivers educate children at home

In response to the school closures in light of COVID-19, Explore & More is focused on helping the local community play and learn. While the museum is temporarily closed, the educational team launched a blog, "Sanity Savers," to help caregivers who are now finding themselves educating their children from home. The blog covers art, culture, STEM, vocabulary, local history and sensory-friendly activities designed to be both fun, playful and educational.

Representatives from Price Rite Marketplace and the University at Buffalo football team donated 43 "sacks" of food to New Beginnings Food Pantry on Tuesday at Price Rite Marketplace of Amherst. The donation was a result of the football team's 43 sacks this season and included canned goods, fresh produce, rice, pasta and water.

The Taste of Buffalo presented by Tops is now accepting applications for its annual scholarship program to support Western New York-area high school seniors aspiring to careers in the foodservice and hospitality industries. This year's program will award five recipients with a $1,000 scholarship to be applied toward their room, board, books and fees.
