The Niagara County History Center continues its celebration of the 100th anniversary of women getting the right to vote with a Presidents’ Day program for children featuring some of this nation’s first ladies and their accomplishments. The event is slated to run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at the History Center, 215 Niagara St., Lockport.

Participants will learn about five first ladies who have connections to Western New York; “meet” Dolley Madison and see how fast they can help her save precious valuables from the White House during the War of 1812; role play by acting out skits about the lives of some of the first ladies; and create their own piece of White House china to take home.

Other fun activities and a homemade snack will also be included.

The program is designed for children 7 to 12 years old. The fee is $10 per child. Reservations are necessary. Call 716-434-7433 or email [email protected] for more information or to register.
