The New York State Department of Financial Services and the New York State Department of Health announced recently that Erie County Medical Center Corp. President and CEO Thomas J. Quatroche Jr., Ph.D., was appointed to the 25-member health care administrative simplification workgroup. Quatroche joins health care industry stakeholders and others on the workgroup from across New York.

The January 2021 administration of the High School Regents Examination Program is canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Interim State Education Commissioner Betty A. Rosa announced Thursday. This cancellation applies to all Regents Examinations that had been scheduled for the January 2021 Regents Examination period. No decisions have been made regarding the June and August 2021 administrations of Regents Examinations or any of the other state assessment programs.

Artpark & Company's board of directors announced the election of new officers and directors at the organization's annual meeting held virtually via Zoom on Oct. 28. Reelected officers include Joanne Bauer of Employer Services Corp. as chairwoman, Vincent Agnello of Niagara University as secretary, and Stephen Turner of the Bonadio Group as treasurer. Christopher Leardini was elected vice chairman.

The Buffalo Sabres on Thursday announced the team will sell puzzles and posters featuring a mosaic of Sabres alumnus and Hockey Hall-of-Famer Dale Hawerchuk, who died in August after a prolonged battle with cancer. Net proceeds from the sales will benefit Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hawerchuk Strong, an initiative supporting important causes close to the hearts of Dale and the Hawerchuk family.
