Mount St. Mary's Hospital Child Care Center has been providing a safe place for education and play for the children of hospital associates and the community since 1988. Virginia Wolbert, executive director, was there at the beginning, and will pass the reigns to a new leader as she retires from her post on Jan. 8.

Jastrzemski on Thursday reminded pistol permitholders that, under the New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of Jan. 15, 2013, pistol permit holders must recertify every five years with the New York State Police Office. That means those who received their permits in 2016 must recertify by the date of issuance on their permit.

Cuomo provides second update on vaccinations

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Tuesday updated New Yorkers on the state's COVID-19 vaccine distribution efforts. By the end of this week, the state will have distributed approximately 911,000 first doses of the vaccine to providers for administration to eligible New Yorkers. Additionally, the governor announced that, to date, 3,762 providers have applied and been approved by the state to serve as vaccination sites. Currently, 636 locations are now activated and are able to begin vaccinating eligible New Yorkers.
