On Sunday, Tops Friendly Markets Public and Media Relations Manager Kathy Sautter announced, "The safety of our associates and customers remains a top priority. As we continue to evaluate our reopening plans for tomorrow, Monday, Dec. 26, we intend to reopen all Tops stores OUTSIDE of Erie County at 6 a.m. as scheduled. Due to the continuing recovery efforts, some stores in Erie County may open later."
NCSO: Travel ban lifted in Niagara County; Erie County in 'major coordination effort'

On Sunday morning, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office announced, "Effective immediately the travel ban for Niagara County has been lifted. A travel advisory will remain in place at this time. A travel advisory is also in place for the City of Lockport, City of Niagara Falls and the City of North Tonawanda."

More than 1,900 New Yorkers are set to receive benefits as part of the final round of payments from the state's historic Excluded Workers Fund (EWF). Nearly $30 million will be sent before the end of the year. In total, more than 130,000 EWF applications have been approved and, minus administrative costs, the entirety of the $2.1 billion fund will soon be distributed to eligible New Yorkers.

On Friday afternoon, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office announced, "Niagara County has declared a state of emergency due to the severe weather conditions that are impacting travel and safety. Effective 2 p.m., Niagara County will be upgrading the travel advisory to a full travel ban until further notice."

Gov. Kathy Hochul has signed legislation (S7867-A/A9596-A) to establish a statewide electronic tracking system for sexual offense evidence collection kits, commonly known as rape kits. Her team said, "This tracking system will ensure that all survivors of sexual assault have access to information about the status and location of their kits."
