Six Flags Darien Lake announced an all-new holiday tradition, the "Magic of Lights" drive-thru experience. The theme park will be all decked out and shining bright from Nov. 19 through Jan. 2, 2022. This 1.25-mile route winds guests through the park and campground from the comfort and warmth of their own cars. Lighting displays will bring favorite holiday themes and characters to life.

Niagara Pride holding holiday shopping online auction to fund 2022 programming

Niagara Pride is asking Western New Yorkers and local businesses to help with its 2021 holiday shopping online auction by donating items or services to be part of the event. The auction will start on Black Friday, Nov. 26, and run through Saturday, Dec. 4. All items need to be donated by Nov. 20.
Hochul signs legislation to ensure used vehicles are sold with functioning airbags

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Monday signed legislation that prohibits used car dealers from selling vehicles at retail without a functioning airbag. Her team said, "This bill is titled 'Anthony Amoros' Law' after a young man from Rockland who died in a car crash in a car that, unbeknownst to him, was sold to him without airbags. Under this legislation, certificates given to vehicle buyers must certify that the vehicle is equipped with an airbag, as well as a readiness indicator light that indicates the airbag is functioning."

Grand Island man pleads guilty to felony animal cruelty charge for fatally injuring dog

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced 43-year-old Brian N. Cline of Grand Island pleaded guilty on Friday afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan to one count of aggravated cruelty to animals (a Class "E" felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to the only charge in the indictment against him.
