Tom Hanks will join Savannah Guthrie to co-host a special hour of NBC News "Today," on Thursday, May 23, live from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The television event will celebrate former U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole's Hidden Heroes organization, which supports military caregivers. Additionally, Hanks and Dole will sit down for a conversation with Guthrie in front of a live audience of military veterans and their caregivers. Al Roker will join Hanks and Guthrie with reports from the Speedway.

Wilson Jr. Foundation, the City of North Tonawanda, BlueCrossBlueShield of Western New York's "Blue Fund," and KaBOOM!. The partners recently awarded the City of North Tonawanda with a "Build it with KaBOOM!" playground grant.
Oakwood veteran identification project

This project started almost 10 years ago when I asked the people from the American Legion if they had a list to go by when they place the flags on the graves of veterans. They said that they did not have a list, but they would love one. As of April 28, I have a tentative list of vets buried at Oakwood Cemetery who may not have either a marker of any kind or a private marker with no military designation on it.
