Lydia S. Soluri (Manerino), "Cici," 71, of Lewiston, died Friday, March 2, 2012. She was born in Niagara Falls, a loving and devoted daughter to the late Louise and Joseph Manerino.

The call went out across the Fairfield University campus late Sunday afternoon to declare a "snow day," or at least "Stag Day," or whatever it takes, so the campus community could venture to Massachusetts on Monday, March 5, and watch their men's and women's basketball teams, both, vie for their championships in the 2012 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and an NCAA tournament berth.

The Alzheimer's Association, Western New York Chapter, will holding special programming for Brain Awareness Week March 12 to 18 throughout the eight counties of Western New York. Each session will feature one of the Alzheimer's Association Power Your Memory classes - "Food for Thought," "Memory Tips," and "What Research Suggests." The BAW programming will end with a guest speaker, Dr. Susan E. Mason, who will present a workshop on "Understanding and Improving Your Memory."

Lewiston-Porter Air Force Junior ROTC will host its third annual Cadets vs. Faculty basketball game on Friday, March 9, at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The money raised by the cadets during the game will be used for an April field trip to Fort Drum. The Lewiston-Porter Players in Progress will perform and the cadets will hold a basket raffle and sell concessions during the game.
