Top 13 perform songs by Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder, live Wednesday, March 7; results revealed Thursday, March 8
Thursday, in the first live results show of the season, "American Idol" revealed the Top 13 finalists: DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Heejun Han, Jermaine Jones, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, Shannon Magrane, Phillip Phillips, Jeremy Rosado, Jessica Sanchez, Elise Testone and Erika Van Pelt. America voted for the Top 10 and then in a dramatic wild card round, judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler chose Brackensick, Rosado and Van Pelt to continue in the competition.
Next week, on Wednesday, March 7 (8 to 10 p.m.), "American Idol" celebrates its milestone 400th episode, when the legendary Mary J. Blige will mentor the Top 13 as the guys take on the music of Stevie Wonder and the ladies pay special tribute to Whitney Houston.
Tune in the following night, Thursday, March 8 (8 p.m.), as America finds out who received enough votes to continue in the competition and who will be sent home. In addition, singing superstar Mary J. Blige takes the stage to perform and season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina returns to perform her smash hit "Georgia Peach."

At the end of each performance show, the phone lines will open for at least two hours and "American Idol" viewers will be able to vote for their favorite contestant(s) via the branded toll-free telephone numbers (1-866-IDOLS-01, -02, etc.). AT&T wireless subscribers can use their cell phones to vote by texting the word "VOTE" to the four-digit short code (5701, 5702, etc.) that corresponds with the contestant of their choice. Additionally, fans will be able to cast their votes online at www.americanidol.com.
To vote online during the voting window, fans should visit www.americanidol.com and follow the directions. Fans will be required to log in using their Facebook account to access the "American Idol" voting page, which will feature the name and photo of each of the current contestants. To vote, fans will simply choose their favorite contestant, complete the security verification and submit their choice. After each performance show and during the online voting window, fans may cast up to 50 total online votes for that evening's performances. Only fans with a registered Facebook account in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands will be able to cast their vote(s) online.
