Keane announced Tuesday a jury found Joel Coleman, 42, of Buffalo guilty of one count of murder in the second degree (class "A-I" felony), one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (class "C" violent felony), and one count of menacing in the second degree (class "A" misdemeanor).
HANCI to host awards luncheon honoring local citizens' contributions to community

Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced Mohammed Mia, 42, of Buffalo was sentenced Friday morning before State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges. He received a determinate sentence of 14 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision.

Wojtaszek to one count of manslaughter in the second degree (class "C" felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge in full satisfaction of the indictment.

The Niagara County Department of Health confirmed a rabid bat on Wilson-Burt Road, Town of Wilson, on Aug. 8. The bat was found outdoors on Aug. 4. No pets were implicated. The Niagara County nursing division will assess any possible human exposure and recommend any post-exposure rabies treatment as appropriate.
