Tops Friendly Markets will celebrate Supermarket Employee Appreciation Day. This annual event is celebrated on the 22nd of every February to not only highlight the remarkable achievements of our associates, but also the longevity and impact grocery workers make on employment.

Well before the term "essential workers" gained prominence, we recognized that it was our associates’ tireless dedication that propelled our business forward, allowing us to curate an exceptional shopping experience for our valued customers.

In their role as a Tops associate, they play a pivotal part in fostering thriving communities. Their efforts ensure not only the fulfillment but the surpassing of our customers' needs, irrespective of the challenges that may arise.

“The resilience demonstrated by the Tops team in the face of adversities, be it a winter storm or a global pandemic, continues to leave us profoundly impressed,” Tops president Ron Ferri said.

And as Tops also celebrates its 62nd anniversary in the communities we serve, we’re proud to honor those who have been with us for decades. In 2023, we recognized a total of 252 associates reaching 25-, 30-, 35-, 40-, 45- and even 50-year anniversaries, for a grand total of 8,235 years of service.

“There is nothing that quite says dedication more than a room full of associates who have called Tops their family for over a quarter a century,” Ferri said.
