Chamber Gala: 10 years in the making

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce honored 10 businesses and individuals at the annual Chamber Awards Gala Friday, May 15, at the Niagara Falls Country Club in Lewiston.

The annual awards gala included an evening of live music, silent auction and hors d'oeuvres followed by a sit-down dinner and awards program.

The Academy Awards-style evening was held to celebrate the business community and those citizens who help contribute to the success of the River Region. It also paid tribute to the chamber's 10th anniversary. The tourism, marketing and events agency was born out of the Greater Lewiston Business and Professional Association.

Chairman's Award - Rivershore Inc.

 

 

Lewiston Business of the Year - Lewiston Music

 

Youngstown Business of the Year - The Ontario House aka "Stone Jug"

 

 

Ransomville Business of the Year - Knead the Dough

 

Sanborn Business of the Year - KeyBank

 

 

Village of Lewiston Citizen of the Year - Tasia Fitzpatrick

 

 

Village of Youngstown Citizen of the Year - Marjorie (Marge) McCollum

 

 

Town of Porter Citizen of the Year - Tom Baia

 

 

Town of Lewiston Citizen of the Year - Paulette Glasgow

 

River Region Partnership Award - Lewiston Council on the Arts

The awards are given based on leadership, dedication and achievement in the community. The respective business associations, citizens and municipal leaders choose the honorees.

 

Chamber President Jennifer Pauly served as master of ceremonies. She and co-worker Suzanne Raby were recognized for their service to the chamber membership and for organizing the gala.

 

 

The Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce is a personalized chamber whose mission is to unify the region and to promote it as a premiere place to live, work and play.
