The Village of Lewiston Board of Trustees presented the Town of Lewiston Council with a check for $5,000 Wednesday to support the Lewiston Family Ice Rink. Following the presentation inside the refurbished warming tent, elected leaders cut a ribbon to officially begin the new season of outdoor skating at Academy Park.

At the November board meeting of the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce, elections were held to fill open board of directors positions. The December board and member meeting, held at Niagara Falls Country Club Dec. 9, passed a vote to ratify the slate of officers filling the open positions commencing Jan. 1, 2016.
