NU Players present all-student production of 'The Twilight of the Golds'

From Feb. 24 through Feb. 26, the Niagara University Players will present an entirely student-run production of "The Twilight of the Golds," by Jonathan Tolins, in the Leary Theatre within the Elizabeth Ann Clune Center for Theatre in Clet Hall.

Directed by NU Theatre senior Annise N. Celano, this 1993 Broadway play is a thought-provoking tragicomedy about family genes and the choices that link and sever their bonds. (It includes some adult subject matter.) The production will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 24-25, and at 2 p.m. on Feb. 25-26.

The board members of the Niagara University Players who are responsible for organizing this production include: Dino Petrera, Class of 2012 (artistic director); Tony Rajewski, '13 (technical director); and Andrea Gollhardt, '12 (treasurer).

Adele to make much-anticipated return at the Grammy Awards

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to Perform at the Grammys

Twenty-time Grammy award winner Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band have been added to the stellar lineup of performers for The 54th Annual Grammy Awards. Actor/recording artist Jack Black, six-time Grammy winner and current three-time nominee Fergie, three-time Grammy winner and current nominee Questlove (The Roots) and nine-time Grammy winner Ringo Starr will appear as presenters. Music's Biggest Night, hosted by two-time Grammy award winner and "NCIS: Los Angeles" star LL Cool J, takes place live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 (8:00-11:30 p.m., live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

NBC announces 14 contestants for 'Fashion Star'

NBC's "Fashion Star" revealed this week the 14 designers competing to become America's next big fashion icon and a chance to win the multi-million dollar prize of launching their collections in three of America's largest retailers: Macy's, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue.  The new series, hosted and executive-produced by Elle Macpherson, and featuring celebrity mentors Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John VarvatosNBC's "Fashion Star" revealed this week the 14 designers competing to become America's next big fashion icon and a chance to win the multi-million dollar prize of launching their collections in three of America's largest retailers: Macy's, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue.
