Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue adoption event at Northtown Subaru

Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue will hold an adoption event from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at Northtown Subaru, 3675 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. The public is invited to meet adoptable dogs Bill, Jane, Laverne and Shirley, Mac, Snoopy, Sugar and Tillie. Information about the adoption process, volunteering and upcoming events will be available.

The rescue will gratefully accept donations of much-needed supplies of Purina One and Science Diet dog food. Also available will be $25 tickets to the fourth annual "Heart to Heart" fundraiser, "A Taste of The Niagara Region," which is Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016. This fundraising event features 40 participating restaurants, caterers and bakeries, a basket auction and musical entertainment by Caribbean Extravaganza Band.

Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue, is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit companion animal rescue organization based in Niagara County. Its mission is to protect the health and welfare of abandoned, unwanted and homeless animals. To date, Heart of Niagara volunteers have adopted out more than 360 animals. HON operates solely on donations and the generosity and support of the public and business community.

The 100-percent volunteer-based organization has a full-time working board that devotes countless hours to save the lives of deserving animals - many that would not survive otherwise.
