Three years ago at this time, Elizabeth Restey of Grand Island was in Roswell Park Cancer Institute undergoing her first round of chemotherapy for acute myeloid leukemia. Two years ago at this time, she was pregnant with her first child. This year, she is back at Roswell and pregnant at the same time.

Mayor Paul A Dyster was joined by officials from the city's Department of Public Works on Thursday as 2,500 channel catfish were released into Hyde Park Lake. The lake, located in the second-largest municipal park in New York after New York City's Central Park, is an impoundment of Gill Creek, which is a tributary of the upper Niagara River.

Local nonprofit Childhaven on Thursday announced the establishment of the "Chris Cornell Music Therapy Program at Childhaven" in memory of the late musician and philanthropist.
