The National Buffalo Wing Festival, one of the country's most beloved food festivals, returns to Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo on Sept. 1-2 to celebrate its 17th year. Erie County DA's office statement on efforts to investigate sexual abuse allegations

Earlier this week, Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn said, "In light of the grand jury report released by the attorney general's office in Pennsylvania, the New York State Attorney General's Office contacted our office regarding a potential joint investigation into alleged sexual abuse by Catholic priests in New York state, specifically within the Diocese of Buffalo. The Erie County District Attorney's Office is in consultation with the attorney general's office to explore the logistics of a potential partnership."

Mount St. Mary's Hospital has now completed a two-year renovation program that has refurbished all of its inpatient rooms and added a significant number of additional private rooms. Improvements were necessary because of a consistent increase in the number of patients.

Rows of extra chairs were wheeled into the Morgan Lewis Village Boardroom on Monday night to accommodate the large number of residents who filed into the Red Brick to learn more about an "Oxford House" on Creek Road Extension. After about a half-hour of civil discourse at the monthly board meeting, residents were told the group home is legal. Furthermore, the occupants can function as they have since the local program was established last September.

ECHDC: Sinatra & Company named developer for South Aud Block

The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. board of directors met Monday and designated a developer to undertake the South Aud Block redevelopment in Buffalo. Sinatra & Company Real Estate LLC will invest $21 million to build Heritage Point, two mixed-use buildings consisting of ground-floor retail and restaurants with Class "A" office space and residential units on the upper floors. The prime slip and sections of the historic Canal Street and Lloyd Street will also be completed by the developer. The South Aud Block redevelopment will open by May 2020.

Gates officially close on 179th Erie County Fair
