Niagara County Peach Festival organizers and local elected leaders joined together Wednesday for a press conference announcing new additions for the 2018 Peach Festival.
This year, the event will be held four days - Sept. 6-9 - at Academy Park in the Village of Lewiston. New Thursday night programming includes appearances from Buffalo sports team mascots and superheroes, plus a concert by 90 West. Watch the video below for more details.
Of course, the weekend also includes the 5K run and parade on Saturday morning, the "Taste Off" and peach shortcake-eating contest Saturday afternoon, the Peach Queen contest on Saturday and Sunday nights, and live music, food vendors and a host of rides (40 in total) throughout the four-day period.
More than 35,000 people are expected to visit Lewiston.
The Niagara County Peach Festival is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston and again this year will feature more than 100 attractions and the famous fresh peach shortcake made with locally grown peaches from Bittner-Singer Orchards and shortcake from DiCamillo Bakery.
The Peach Festival has raised more than $1 million for area charities and service organizations since its creation in 1958. For more information, visit www.lewistonpeachfestival.org.
