Jesus Culture's Bryan & Katie Torwalt released a five-song album, "Praise Before My Breakthrough," available everywhere today. This project is a collection of songs that are geared to minister to hearts in every season of life carrying the hope and love of God, while sharing moments of struggle that are relatable to all. Fair Trade Services' Hawk Nelson debuted a new music video for their song, "Parachute," on Freeccm.com in support of the upcoming single. The video was shot by the band's frontman, Jon Steingard, at the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico, and it was done entirely on an iPhone.

The 600 block of 10th Street in front of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will be closed temporarily to thru traffic for both vehicles and pedestrians from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday as a crane is used to deliver an HVAC unit to the roof of the hospital's seven-story Schoellkopf Building (S Building).

The New York State Thruway Authority announced Wednesday that the southbound South Grand Island Bridge on the Niagara Thruway (I-190) will close for repair work beginning at 5 a.m. Saturday through 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19.

The fall athletics season has been one to remember for the Niagara-Wheatfield girls volleyball team. The team won its first Section VI title and followed it with a win in the Far West Regional to clinch the first state tournament appearance in program history.
On Friday morning, the team was scheduled to hit the road for states in Glens Falls. Prior to them loading up the bus and taking off, though, the team was given an outstanding send off from their fellow classmates.

The New York State Department of Transportation on Thursday announced work is scheduled to begin this week on the project to remove a portion of the Niagara Scenic Parkway in the City of Niagara Falls. As a result, road closures are scheduled to begin this week.

In September, Congressman Brian Higgins spoke on the Floor of the House of Representatives, concerned tariffs imposed by the Trump administration could cost consumers and local jobs at companies such as New Era Cap Co., headquartered in Buffalo. Two months later, that possibility became a reality, as New Era announced plans to close its Western New York manufacturing plant in Derby, impacting 219 local workers.

The Eric Wood Fund, a not-for-profit organization founded by former Buffalo Bills center Eric Wood, will host its fourth annual "Flights and Bites" fundraiser on Monday, Nov. 26. Proceeds will support programming of The Children's Hospital of Buffalo Foundation and Stone's Buddies. The fund provides chronically ill, special needs and physically challenged children throughout Greater Buffalo with daily encouragement and life-changing experiences.

The meeting will take place at 3 p.m. at the Grand Island Court Room, 2255 Baseline Road. Santa Claus will make his way to the Village of Hamburg's historic Erie Railroad Depot at the corner of Scott and Union streets by train on Saturday, Dec. 1. St. Nick will arrive at 9:30 a.m. aboard a train pulled by "Viscose Company" No. 6, a 1925 0-4-0 steam locomotive. Santa will then make his way inside the depot to Artcraft Toy Trains, where he'll meet with children until 5 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras to take free pictures with Santa.
