Cuomo: Beaches and pools to operate with 6-foot social distancing

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced beaches and pools will operate with 6-foot social distancing in anticipation of Memorial Day. New York state's goal is to reopen them to 100% capacity by July 4.
5 new pop-up vaccination sites at NFTA stations in Buffalo & Falls

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced five new pop-up vaccination sites at Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority station stops in the Buffalo and Niagara Falls areas. The sites will serve walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis utilizing the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. New York is partnering with Erie County Medical Center, Kaleida Health, Urban Family Practice and Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center to administer vaccines at the sites.
Free community COVID-19 testing event in Falls

With the rainout this past Friday night, Ransomville Speedway will try again and open the gates for the first time in 2021 on Friday, May 14, with the running of the Mackenzie Kulesza Memorial for the Sunflowers of Sanborn Mini Stocks. Forest service grants available for Great Lakes restoration projects

The USDA Forest Service Eastern Region announced two requests for applications for 2021 Great Lakes Restoration Initiative projects. Through an agreement with the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service anticipates up to $5.4 million will be available for reforestation, ecosystem restoration and forest health improvements on non-federal lands in the Great Lakes basin of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
