When I took office on Jan. 1, 2016, I quickly learned that the current town and village police contract, which had been signed in 1995, had never been updated. There were several attempts by previous town and village boards to do so, but it was never finished. Although the original contract never officially "expired," it was meant to be renegotiated approximately every five years.

It distributed the profits from a successful theatrical production of "The Odd Couple" to help the less-fortunate.
