HS Hockey: Falcons cruise to state title game

The Niagara-Wheatfield community has been down in the dumps the last few days, but Saturday morning, the Falcons hockey team gave some joy to those hurting. The Falcons defeated the North Rockland Raiders in the New York state semifinals, 4-0.

Schneiderman issues consumer alert warning New Yorkers of extortion telephone scam

Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman issued a consumer alert, notifying New Yorkers of a new scam in which New Yorkers receive calls from potential fraudsters who threaten to harm the New Yorkers' family members if they do not pay a ransom. New Yorkers should immediately contact the New York State Police at 1-800-GIVETIP.

Niagara County Builders reveal name change, strategic plan

The Niagara County Builders Association is set to reveal a new name, a new direction and a new perspective on the construction industry in Niagara on March 14 at G-Mac's in Sanborn. The association has been in Niagara County since 1943 as a chapter of the National Association of Home Builders. The organization will still be a chapter of NAHB under the new name Niagara Region Construction Alliance.
