Admission for Fairgrounds Festival of Lights on sale starting Nov. 1

Visitors to the Fairgrounds Festival of Lights can plan ahead and purchase admission starting Nov. 1. Tickets can be purchased from any checkout register at all Tops Friendly Markets for $15 per vehicle or online at www.fairgroundsholiday.com until Dec. 31. It is one price for the entire vehicle to be admitted any one night to the festival. Admission must be purchased in advance, as tickets will not be sold at the gate.
Erie County Parks, partners plan improvements to Isle View Park

On Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., eight sites in Erie County and 20 across Western New York will be set up for residents to dispose of expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. Coordinated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, this is the 19th nationwide event held since its start in 2010.

The Town of Grand Island has announced Traffic Safety Enforcement and Awareness Days for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10. The goal of this high-visibility, multi-agency enforcement and awareness program is to promote traffic safety by encouraging motor vehicle operators, bicyclists and pedestrians to become attentive to road safety. Speeding, aggressive driving, driving on the shoulder, complete stops and distracted driving will be highlighted.
