With Earth Day celebrated nationally this Monday, April 22, Niagara County is getting a jump on the festivities by partnering with Sunnking to host an electronics recycling event in Niagara Falls on Saturday. This is a free event open to all Niagara County residents, but registration is required.

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Kalique Miller, age 19, of Niagara Falls, was sentenced to spend the next 30 years in prison following his conviction of the crimes of attempted murder, attempted aggravated assault of a police officer, and criminal possession of a weapon.

New York State's Environmental Facilities Corp. (EFC) has provided financing for over 2,000 essential local water infrastructure projects totaling more than $23.7 billion since 1990, but the estimated capital improvement needs for water and sewer projects far exceeds this amount, and tens of billions of dollars in local projects remain in the pipeline, according to a report by New York State Comptroller Thomas P. This program ensures that children who are economically disadvantaged continue to receive nutritious meals during summer vacation.
