For the second consecutive year, SUNY Niagara has been the most successful campus participating in a SUNY-wide program to help former students come back to a SUNY campus to continue their studies.

The “Re-enroll to Complete” project guides students through the re-enrollment process and counsels them to help them manage their federal loans. Statewide, 535 students resumed their pursuit of a degree through the “Reenroll to Complete” project last fall, with 345 of them registering at SUNY Niagara.

“The SUNY re-enroll campaign provides an opportunity to bridge any gaps that may have been missed the during the students initial time at the college,” SUNY Niagara Director of Financial Aid Jim Trimboli said. “Leading this campaign for a second straight year is a testament to supporting students who are ready to return and finish their degrees.”

The SUNY “Re-enroll to Complete” initiative launched in March 2018 with the goal of re-enrolling withdrawn SUNY students who were also federal student loan borrowers. SUNY Niagara was chosen as a pilot campus for the initiative by SUNY.

SUNY Niagara also led the campaign in the 2022 project year, accounting for more than 60% of re-enrolled students. That year, SUNY Niagara had 291 of the total 474 re-enrolled students from 18 participating campuses.
